Move & Traffic Controls (MTC) and the West Saxon University of Applied Sciences Zwickau (WHZ) celebrate research and progress
On June 18, 2025, the Fraunhofer Application Center for Optical Metrology and Surface Technologies (AZOM) in Zwickau celebrated its tenth anniversary – an occasion that impressively underlined the importance of regional research networks for industrial innovation.
We were delighted to attend the anniversary celebration at the invitation of Dr.-Ing. Tobias Baselt – represented by our colleague Alexandra Ulbrich (Sales) and our colleague Adrian Münze (Project Development). Many thanks for the invitation and the inspiring conversations!
WHZ and MTC: Innovation partnership with a future for door safety in public transport
The focus of our work is the close cooperation with the West Saxon University of Applied Sciences Zwickau, with whom we are jointly researching new sensor solutions for public transport TraffiCon tactLaser
In this partnership, we combine our expertise in fiber optic sensor systems with WHZ's scientific competence in laser microstructuring – with the aim of setting new standards in door safety. This partnership is a prime example of how practice-oriented research leads to real added value for road safety and technology development.
Impulses from the region – for the public transport of tomorrow
For Move & Traffic Controls GmbH , WHZ is a key partner in implementing innovative solutions. Managing Director Volker Trapp emphasizes: “The collaboration with WHZ significantly advances our technology – and strengthens our position as a solution provider for safety-relevant applications in public transport.”
