In conversation with Adrian Münze – passion for technology and innovation at Move & Traffic Controls GmbH

Adrian Münze, project engineer at Move & Traffic Controls, at his workplace

Personal introduction

Adrian Münze joined the team at Move & Traffic Controls GmbH, a leading company in the development of sensors and sensor systems for the traffic engineering and automotive industries, in September 2021. As a project engineer at MTC, Adrian has turned his hobby into his profession. He loves developing, tinkering, and finding creative technical solutions.

Daily work routine and responsibilities

Adrian plays a key role at MTC. He is responsible for the design and development of sensor components – parts used in various traffic monitoring and safety systems. He also supports the technical manufacturing process by ensuring that the developed products can be manufactured reliably and efficiently.

Successes and projects

A milestone in Adrian Münze's time at MTC so far has been the introduction of the 3D CAD software SolidWorks. This enables precise digital design drawings that facilitate both the planning and manufacturing of products. This innovation was complemented by a 3D DLP (Digital Light Processing) printer, which allows for the production of detailed prototypes. This technology ensures faster development processes and strengthens the company's innovative capacity.

Team and company culture

Adrian Münze particularly appreciates the open and appreciative corporate culture at MTC. "Not only performance, but also the personality of each individual is recognized," he says. This atmosphere, in which team spirit and individual skills are equally fostered, motivates Adrian every day.

Personal insights

Adrian remains true to his technical interests even in his free time. He spends a lot of time developing and tinkering. Outside of technology, he is enthusiastic about medieval reenactment – recreating historical scenes – as well as bouldering, a challenging climbing discipline. He also loves discovering new restaurants and enjoying good food.

A look into the future

For the coming years, Adrian Münzehopes that Move & Traffic Controls GmbH will maintain its technological leadership and successfully complete the ongoing ZIM project "TraffiContactLaser." This project, funded by the Central Innovation Program for SMEs (ZIM) of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action, aims to revolutionize safety systems in public transport. Together with the West Saxon University of Applied Sciences Zwickau, MTC is developing innovative PMMA fiber sensors that, through laser microstructured technologies, set new standards in entrapment detection. These sensors are intended for use in door safety systems of buses and trains to precisely measure pressure sensitivity and thus significantly increase passenger safety.

Adrian is pleased that with this pioneering project, MTC will not only tackle current challenges but also help shape future standards for road safety.
